Library Information

The Library Mission is to ensure that staff and students are effective users of ideas and information. This mission enables all students to succeed in a changing world and contributes to our district aim to be a high-performing school.

Learning to use online resources, the ability to locate, evaluate and ethically use both digital and print information is an important part of student success in school achievement.

Borrowing Books

All books from the general collection may be checked out for 10 school days.   The date on the card in the pocket of the book is the date when the book should be returned.  Books may be renewed provided there is not a demand for that particular title or subject matter.  Students with overdue books or outstanding fines must clear their record before borrowing additional materials.

Fines

Students will be charged for lost books and books that are damaged beyond repair.

Reserves

Students may reserve books that are not currently available. When the library does not own the materials you need, every effort will be made to obtain them through district interlibrary loan.

• Destiny- the online library catalog
• MackinVIA- online ebook & audiobook collection (log in with your BASD username & password)
• Power Library - you need a membership to a public library to use at home
• World Book Online Reference Center (get password from the librarian)
